About Me
Welcome!
Born and raised in California's central valley, I moved to Southern California just after high school and have lived here ever since. My dreams and aspirations have changed quite a bit over the years, and my interests are quite eclectic.
I am currently working in higher education, within the realm of international and continuing education. I enjoy connecting with international students, utilizing creative marketing strategies to connect with potential students, and working with developmentally disabled students and making college a possibility for individuals with disabilities through unique support methods. My current research interests include increasing study abroad participation among college students and program development and sustainability.
My professional goals for the next 10 years include taking on more responsibility in program development within the broad realm of student affairs. I am very interested in building study abroad programs from the ground up at universities that do not have any. I also plan to continue my research on best practices for supporting nontraditional college students.
I received my MS in Higher Education Leadership and Student Development at California Baptist University where I focused my research efforts on increasing study abroad participation. Since then, I have continued my research on increasing participation in study abroad among science students and program development and sustainability.
I have a background in Art History (with both a BA and an MA from UC Riverside) and would like to own and run a gallery someday. My dream is to open a gallery in a college town and partner with local art history programs in order to staff the gallery with student interns and present student work.
I am always open to partnerships and meeting like-minded people! Please feel free to hit that "contact me" button and connect.

Emergency Preparedness Plan for Students Abroad
Practical Plan
After watching the 2015 Paris attack as an assistant in a study abroad office, I came up with a practical emergency preparedness plan that I can implement in any office or department I ever work in. It is so important to be prepared for the unlikely, and in that situation, I learned that communication is key. My plan sets up a line of communication to keep all constituents abreast of what is happening, while maintaining student safety, security, and well-being.
Campus Poster
Switzerland Program 2016
I created posters to market UCR's Summer Study Abroad programs. The posters were shared with departments and were hung around campus.
Infographic for Social Media
Spain Program 2016
I created a series of informational photos to post on UCR Summer Study Abroad's Instagram and Facebook pages. These ranged in topics, but were typically to announce information sessions being put on by the programs' instructors.
Program Manual
MS Higher Education Leadership & Student Development
I edited the pre-existing program manual for the MSHELSD program at CBU. I was an intern during the program's first cohort, so the manual had been created as trial run to be used the first year. I edited and re-formatted the manual, making it much more user friendly for students, faculty, and administrators.
